New Year, New Luck is a saying that can be applied to 2022. The last two
years haven’t been marked by joy and happiness, but this year could be
better in terms of the current situation with the virus. This news gives hope
and is a light on the horizon. Well there‘s also a musical reason for joy.
Rockfact Music Club has announced another concert with IRON-T21 to
dispel the calm in the canton of Basel-Country. Zleeping Elephants and
F.U.S.E were added to the program as bands. It was time to change this
after a long dry spell without audio-visual spectacles. That's why I payed a
visit to the Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein. At 8 pm, the gates of the
venue opened and you were allowed to enter after the certificate check. I
was very happy to experience a concert there again, because it‘s almost on
the doorstep. In addition, the acoustics are great. As the first band of the
evening F.U.S.E was allowed to open at 8:40 pm. After an intro, "Real temptation" sounded as the first song. The five-
piece from the Basel aera presented an exciting amalgam of styles and influences. Lead guitarist Jerry Thomas Ferrat
shone with guitar solos in the spotlight and looked extremely cool with sunglasses. Rhythm guitarist Stefan Christen gave
the sound hardness and pressure and convinced with mighty guitar riffs. The audience liked the performance and reacted
with applause. "Anywhere" stood out with its melodies and chorus. During "Rolling home" singer Rob announced that this
song was about what can go wrong. Murphy's law immediately came to my mind. As a premiere the new bass player
Stephan played this evening and was introduced to the audience by the band, which welcomed him with a warm
applause. After the ballad "With you" followed "System", which criticizes the media and how they report on events. Here
was a touch of Faith No More. During "Snowblind" Stefan played three times to see the reaction from the audience, which
showed that they were still fully there. "Your philosophy" brought the rock tunes back, before the second ballad "Shoot
the moon" sounded. With these two ballads I noticed they‘re clearly rooted in the alternative rock of the 90‘s. Singer Rob
asked the dancers to find a partner. Unfortunately, the peformance was coming to an end and a real grenade followed at
the end with "Forgotten.“ A fast song with a strong Velvet Revolver flavor, which provided a nice ending. Afterwards
F.U.S.E said goodbye and left the stage. They kicked ass during 60 minutes with a good show and played their hardest
concert that evening.

After a short break, headliner Zleeping Elephants entered the stage at 22:15. To be honest, Id never seen this band
live before and only knew their name. For this reason I was really looking forward to them. „Siren In The Dark“ opened
their appearance after an intro. Their music wasn’t to fall asleep, because they presented diversified Heavy Metal with
refined Rock. Besides kicked ass with catchy melodies, hard riffs and powerful singing. Guitarist Cedric Lochmann showed
his skills with guitar solos. The question of singer Kevin Herren "are you ready to rock?" was followed by a loud "Yeah"
from the audience. "What Dreams May Come" started very progressive and kept this atmosphere during the whole song.
After that followed "10 Years", which started with ocean sounds, wandered through the venue in a progressive guise and
also ended with those wave sounds. Singer Kevin then said "I would like to go on vacation when I hear the sea". That's
how it‘s for all of us who have an affinity for waters with high and low tides.
A statement was directed against all liars of this world with „Liar“. Very epic came across "Victorious", which had catchy
guitar riffs and was shown authentically. It was also announced that this song had been played live for the second time in
the career. To increase the mood and bring in some party vibes, the Rage Against The Machine classic "Killing in the
name of" was played and there was more movement in the crowd and people sang along. Then they approached the end
of the show with the second last song "If it hurts". At this point the band had to announce that bassist Adriano Leanza
will leave the band and this will be his last appearance. In addition, Kevin informed that you can start to apply for the
vacant place on the bass. "Bleed" sounded as the last song and the spectators weren‘t satisfied yet. They wanted to hear
more and demanded an encore. This was granted with "Joke's On You" and marked the end. After that the band said
goodbye and received applause for their headlining show. A varied experience was presented for 65 minutes.

It was worth being present at this concert and it was nice to see familiar faces again after a long time and enjoying music
together. As the only negative point of criticism is the fact that these moments pass much too quickly.
