Moment of Madness (SWI), Onerous (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein,  Switzerland – 14.05.2022
These aren’t exactly easy times that we’re currently experiencing. First the Corona pandemic, then the Ukraine war. Fortunately there’s a recipe to kick negativity out of life. It’s called music and helps you to disconnect for a moment. How good there was a metalcore concert nearby at the Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein. The local band Moment of Madness was anounced as headliner and Onerous became their support act. The case is clear: you go there and have a good time. Doors opened on 8 PM and Onerous was the first band on stage. The five-piece hailing from Emmenbrücke, canton of Lucerne with members from different cantons of Switzerland indulged in a mix of NuMetal and Metalcore and were looking forward to present itself. "Human Error" " opened their performance. Singer Dominic Rüegg presented himself
joyfully to the crowd present and alternated in his singing between rap and growls. Guitarist Ricardo Campos supported him with clear vocals from time to time. Atmosphere was created by the band when Dominic left the stage during "Interlude Hipop" and brought various visitors closer to the stage so they could feel the sound in a better way. I thought that was a great gesture. Afterwards the song "Signs" got played. Singer Dominic went into the audience again to involve the fans in the show which was pretty cool from this guy. During "Drumbeat/Döme" Dominic came with the announcement the audience has to sing along some words during the transition to the song "Shiver" and that the city slickers from Basel would‘ve freaked out like never before during their show at Sommercasino. For this reason, the Basel- Land audience had to prove to him how well they could do it. The audience in front of the stage tried very hard to sing along the given words and they solved the task with bravura. In my opinion much better than the city slickers from Basel. The music was well mixed and the breakdowns and scratch samples came out well. They continued without a break and new songs like "Unwanted" or the closing track "Unsolved" made their way into the setlist. After that their performance as support act ended. Setlist Onerous Human Error Lost Soul Interlude HipHop Signs Drumbeat/Döme Shiver Redress Unwanted Interlude Clean Crossing Unsolved A short interruption followed and the stage was rearranged. Thereafter Moment of Madness was on stage. The four- piece hailing from Gelterkinden started their performance with "Burn" after an intro. During "Screw You" occured a small mosh pit. Sergio Rui (ex-Falldown) played as a substitute for Jonas Brandenberger. The music was in contrast to the predecessor without Nu Metal influences and showed more variety. The band had two vocalists, Andrea Leandro Perin and Ivo Gäumann. While Andrea was responsible for the metal vocals, Ivo was responsible for the clear vocals. Both harmonized with each other while breakdowns and electronic samples were added. The majority young audience between 20-25 years enjoyed the performance. What looked extremely cool were the fog fountains with light shows that shot out of the fog LED DSK-1500V machines and enveloped the front stage area for short moments. Frontman Andrea announced there’ll be more music this year. Songs from the EP "Guiding Light" and the debut "Clouds" were played this evening. With "In The End" followed a cover of the Linkin Park hit of the same name from 2001. I thought the version was successful because it was different from the original and had its own touch. After "Clouds" Andrea and Sergio left the stage and an acoustic version of "Screw You" followed in which Ivo showed a more sensitive side and the rest of the instruments fell silent. The band left the stage. The audience wanted to hear an encore and wasn‘t satisfied yet. For this reason the members returned and played "End Of The Fucking World". Their performance was over and they were adopted with a lot of applause. 75 minutes were enough to leave a good impression and create enthusiasm. Setlist Moment of Madness Intro Burn Manipulation Screw You Far Away What We Seek My Treasure Desicions Suffering Fiction Or Reality In The End Guiding Light All I Have Is A Memory Clouds Screw You Accoustic End Of The Fucking World From my point of view, it had been worth exposing oneself to this charge of metalcore and having fun. The happy faces of the young audience clearly showed that. Hopefully there‘ll be another metalcore concert at Rockfact Music Club. Livereport by Dominic Latscha
