United Metal Forces
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein,  Switzerland – 27.08.2022
Thola (SWI), King Sable (SWI), Angry Again (SWI)
A small tour with three metal bands in three different cities in Switzerland was created. Under the motto "United Metal Forces" Thola from the canton of Valais, King Sable from the canton of Lucerne and Angry Again from the canton of St. Gallen joined forces. After the tour kicked off in St. Gallen, the trek started moving and made a stop in Münchenstein. An interesting program
for lovers of hard sounds and a reason to be at this event and indulge in a charge of top notch sound. Another reason for me to make a pilgrimage to Rockfact Music Club was the fact that I had to repent for a sin. Why? Well, at the last gig of the Wallis I wasn‘t present and wanted to make up for this shame and get absolution. Said, done and after a short drive I found myself in front of the venue. The gates opened at 8 pm. The first band Angry Again was allowed to open the evening at 8:40 pm. The thrash metal band from Eastern Switzerland was looking forward to the evening and started like a train. "Until We Die" sounded after an intro. A load of fast, razor-sharp riffs was served to us with a lot of movement on stage. Singer Simon Gehring left no stone unturned vocally and sought contact with his comrades for a thrash metal firework that was ignited. With "Near the end" a new song was presented. Really awesome songs that kicked ass and a spectacle was over after 55 minutes. This groove thrash metal beast knew what to do, left a good impression and let the body temperature of the audience rise steeply. The band from Central Switzerland entered the stage at 10:05 pm and an intro announced their performance. The show started with "Demons We Feed". Their sound was more melodic, but still hard with a mixture of thrash metal, rock and electronic interludes, crossing over into metalcore. It was very exciting to witness due to the polyphonic passages in which singer Andy Iten teamed up with Martin Arnold and thrilled.. The hit "Aim 4 the chin" to which a video was shot, was extremely well received and guitarist Robin Mathys shone with solo. He had been invited to help out the band that night as a special guest and did a great job. On some songs Andy used a megaphone to distort the vocal parts. The band went into the home stretch with a lot of groove and a multi-faceted sound when an interesting song called "I own the world" was performed. Listening to it, it reminded me of the American band Five Finger Death Punch which felt great because of a driving rhythm. "My Ghost" followed as the last song and the group said goodbye to the audience. I’ve to see them live again, because they left a great impression on me and the other spectators Setlist King Sable Demons we Feed Mistake to make Ain’t this life Parasite Aim 4 the Chin Bury the Pain After the Storm Retaliation I own the world My Ghost Headliner Thola was on stage. I know the metal combo from Valais with singer Thomas Rauch from Basel.Country for some time and they don’t only make great music, but also have a contract with the Spanish record company Art Gates Records in Valencia. The band took their positions while an intro rang at 11:20 pm. "Parasite" sounded from the speakers and it was time for progressive thrash metal. Singer Thomas showed a great vocal performance and was very happy being on this stage tonight. A reckoning against the criminals of the world followed with „Heroes“. The band experienced injustice themselves, because this song was on Youtube for one minute before it was banned. A bad move from this online platform to ban such good music. The five-piece presented itself as a perfect unit and had flawless sound. With "1000 Times" a pretty fresh song was presented. After that, the band members were handed a glass of liquor to drink. That was good and, Patrick and Thomas left the stage during  "Black Day" Rodo to get in touch with the audience and walk a round through the concert goers. "Rage Hard" was a song about the rage in the belly of people, which proved to be a real piece of Thrash Metal. A true progressive thrash spectacle was celebrated and every song kicked ass in its own way. However, the hit "Somewhere" from the album of the same name was also played. After "Wish You Well" the performance would have ended. However, the forces weren‘t yet at the end and the audience wanted encores. Thereupon the two encores "Vertical Sky" and "Bloody" were performed. Thomas and his band mates said goodbye amid much applause and left again a great impression.
