The Klayns (SWI), Five Miles Left (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Classic Rock returns to the limelight by bands like Greta van Fleet and Dirty Honey. Furthermore, it receives a rejuvenation through these new bands. While these bands celebrate a lot of success in the USA, something is also happening in Switzerland. The Klayns from the municipality of Arlesheim in canton Baselland was booked by IRON-T21 for a concert at Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein. Five Miles Left was announced as support act. An interesting program for fans of hard rock, classic rock and blues rock. Here you met authentic, handmade music. Five Miles Left entered the stage shortly after the doors opened. This band was enthusiastic about their live premiere in front of an audience. The five- piece from Baselland and district Dorneck in Solothurn about singer Lady Anni

started to perform with „Cowboy Song“ from Thin Lizzy. The guitarists Meffisto and Carcharodon let the riffs speak for themselves and bass player Captain M was immersed in the music. Anni`s announcement that the next song is about reluctance to go to the doctor caused a laugh. "Dr. Alibi" by Slash and Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) followed. It became a bit quieter with  „One“ by U2 when you could experience a more soulful side. This continued with the Tho Who classic "Behind Blue Eyes" before the rock sounds returned with Pink's "U + UR Hand". You hoped for warmer temperatures with "Hazy Shade of Winter" after Anni’s statement „ it has been long cold enough now“. Actually, "Basket Case" by Green Day would‘ve been the last song. However, the audience wanted to hear an encore and got it in form of "One Meatball" by Calvin Russell. After that, the band members left the stage under applause. At 10 pm the members of The Klayns entered the stage and opened their performance with the George Thorogood classic "Bad to The Bone". You can't choose a more ingenious introduction. A smart move of the six-piece from the community of Arlesheim. After that the white drug called "Cocaine" was sung by J.J. Cale & ua by Eric Clapton. Here Klaus Klayn shone at the keys. Singer Peter Klayn presented himself in a good mood and grined like a cheshire cat. He transmitted this joy to the audience with his voice and left the stage several times to get in touch with the crowd. Rhythm guitarist Donat supported him with singing in between. The people enjoyed the performance and this was noticeable with a lot of movement in the front rows where some spectators shook a leg. Instead of waiting for the hit "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple, surprisingly "Black Night" was played which I thought was great, because this song doesn’t get enough attention in my opinion. Singer Peter told the audience they were all in the monastery and were brothers. He also explained the meaning of the band's name. It‘s a composition of the first names Wayn and Klaus. That's why everyone's last name is "Klayn". Although many cover songs were in their set, they also played their own songs. "The KLAYNS Song", "Bad Times" about the negative effects of the Corona Pandemic. The group commemorated the flood victims in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany with their own song "Before The Storm". After the Steppenwolf hit "Born to Be Wild“, Peter and his bandmates left the stage. The audience wanted to hear more and therefore four encores were played. They shone again with "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin, "Rockin' in The Free World" by Neil Young, "Hush" by Deep Purple and "Heroes" by David Bowie and The Klayns earned a lot of applause for their great performance in front of a big audience that had enjoyed every second.
