A concentrated load of hard music was on. The flyer alone with the flood let one guess what’ll take place here. A night of Core with the Swiss band I, Delusionist as headliner and support act Mayflower from Germany. This extreme kind of sound had been missing in the canton of Baselland for a while and curiosity increased when this event was announced. It’s good going to concerts in these dark times and getting the daily worries out of the heads with hardness. It's also great when young bands from these genres get the chance to perform live and admire their creation. Mayflower had the honor to open the evening. The metalcore five-piece from Freiburg im Breisgau won the Blood Battle at SAK Wasserwerk in Lörrach and may open the festival Baden in Blut at Dreiländergarten in Weil am Rhein on 22.07.2023. Moreover

their first live performance was as support of Spiritbox at Z7 in Pratteln last year. Singer Alex Memmert was in charge of the screams and showed much motion. Guitar player Manuel Birkenfelder presented guitar solos and was in charge of the clean vocals parts. The music bumped out the speakers and presented itself with melodic and hard vocal parts including tempo changes. The young audience enjoyed the show and show it repeatedly with applause. Singer Alex said tables and stools aren’t needed and you can get up and come closer to the stage. The spectators came closer to the stage as a result. Many breakdowns got played and there was no violent dancing which was rather untypical at such events. Never mind because the atmosphere was good and Alex refered to the videoclip of the song „Torn To Pieces“. The last song „Save Me“ was played which was also the first single from the debut. Nevertheless some spectators weren’t satisfied yet and asked for an encore. That’s why „AC131“ was played again. The members said thank you to the organizers and left the stage. Setlist Mayflower Intro Misery Before I Fall Colado AC131 Sleep Torn To Pieces Save Me Headliner I, Delusionist stepped on stage after a short interruption. The deathcore five-piece from city of Basel issued their first album „Catharsis“ in 2020 and followed up one year later with the EP „Downfall“. It became dark at 10:05 pm and „Downfall“ opened their set. The band with singer Dino trashed through the set with hardness and a lot of bludeoning and there was no place to catch a breath. In between, clouds of fog shot out of the devices and flashes of light set in during the verses. Their songs against human ignorance such as "Generation of Apathy" and "Poised Nation" received positive reactions from the young audience and aplauded. Roman and Fabian on guitars provided the hardness and Mirco on bass swirled in the background. They tore the club apart with their irrepressible groove sound and managed to inspire. Unfortunately, there wasn‘t much movement in the audience, which was a little pity to me. Usually it’s different at these concerts. The last song „Observer“ was played and the members thanked the organizers and audience for that night. After this performance one felt exhausted but happy. You could see it in the faces of the fans, who enjoyed every second. Deathcore shows don't take place every weekend in Switzerland.
