IRON SAW BLADE
Drain Down (GER), Projekt Krank (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Finally January is over. The weirdest moment of the year and responsible for
an event called „January void“. A shorter but better month comes with
February with concerts in the agenda. How cool that the association IRON-
T21 was active at Rockfact Music Club and hosted a new event again. The
Thrash metal band Drain Down from Germany and Projekt Krank from
Switzerland visited Münchenstein. It was time to check out metal live after a
longer abstence. I went there for fun. The doors opened at 8 pm and I
discovered well-known faces inside the club soon. I was looking forward to
the first group after some smalltalk. Projekt Krank had the honour to
inaugurate the evening. The four-piece from the Zuchwil in Solothurn was
completely unknown to me. However I noticed two members had been in
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein, Switzerland – 08.02.2025
the Swiss Death metal band Abgrund. I was curious how because I hadn’t experienced a mix of Black metal, Doom metal,
German rock and Mundart before. It started at 8:30 pm. The members entered the stage and the first song „Aufbruch“
from the homonymous album got played after an intro. Their performance was enriched with interesting elements, a
great light show and clouds of mist shooting out generated suspense. The look of the band also differed from other
bands. Singer and guitarist Stefan (ex-Abgrund) with white makeup in this face integrated his Black metal influenced
voice in the show. Bassist Davill (ex-Totenheer) with bloody coloured tears in the face and guitarist Heinz (ex-Abgrund,
ex-Forge) were allowed to support him with background vocals occasionally. The sound was like Rammstein with a shot of
Black metal and presented with a lot of passion to the audience. It was thrilled and showed applause. Stefan said in „Life“
you should appreciate and enjoy it as long as you‘re on this planet, because you never know when it will end. A wise
statement from him and I agree. The song “I ha d'Schnauze Vou” in Bernese German was next, which made you feel like
home before “Erlösung” brought the show to a close. An outro sounded and Davill, Heinz, Stefan and Peter left the stage.
55 minutes playing time was enough to show Helvetia has good Industrial metal bands too.

It was time to get soft drinks and gather new strength after this appearance. Furthermore I visited the merchandise
corner of the bands. T-shirts and CD’s inclusive stickers were prepared for sale.
Headliner Drain Down entered the stage at 10:05 pm. The Thrash metal three-piece from the city of Freiburg im
Breisgau was ready to shake Rockfact with hard sounds. It started with „Fake Leaders“ and singer/guitarrist Heiko Kratz
with baseballcap sang magnificently. The music was faster and more aggressive than the support act. It increased the fun
and made the body move. Standing there and listen to the sound was impossible. A hardcore punk steamroller flattened
everything. Bassist Alex Riedel with Motörhead T-shirt sought contact with Heiko for guitar duels and was allowed to
support him with vocals here and there. The focus was on the record „Toxic Society“ from 2024 that night. Covers were
played besides own songs. „Refuse/Resist“ by Sepultura, „Motorbreath“ by Metallica and „Ace of Spades“ by Motörhead.
„Scams“ was a criticism against crooked politicians. You couldn’t breathe and there were no announcements during the
show. Drummer Oliver Lenz could proof his skills with a drum solo after „Claiming Consequences“ and received applause
for his performance. It seemed cool. Heiko asked the spectators if they were still present and want hear more songs after
„King of Audacity“. The answer was a resounding „Yes!“. He announced the release date 25.04.2025 and two new songs
from the new album got played. „Mental Pollution“ was the first encore and „Perfidy incredible treason“ was the second.
After the complete set had been played, band members Heiko, Alex and Oliver thanked the audience and left the stage.
60 minutes of full throttle and without mercy made a great impression at their live premiere in the canton of Basel-
Country. We'd like more of that.

After these two performances, you could buy merchandise from the bands at the merchandise stand and talk to the
members. Afterwards, the club emptied and people were released into the cold winter night. Stefan Walker was
responsible for the great, powerful sound. Päsci was responsible for the light. Thank you all for your contributions to this
great evening. It wouldn't have been possible without you.
