Dead Born Vision (SWI), Hedvig (GER)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein,  Switzerland – 07.09.2024
The local Thrash Metal band Dead Born Vision decided to record a full- length album after the release of two EP’s. It was named „Moving Through“ inclusive an amazing cover where a superheroe breaks through a wall. The Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein was chosen as venue for this record release. Furthermore the first concert after the summer break. Hedvig  became the support act. This seemed an aesthetic, interesting program. You made the pilgrimage to check out ferocious thrash metal sounds. The doors opened at 8 pm and Hedvig started to perform 30 minutes later.
The thrash metal three piece from Freiburg in Breisgau at the age of 20-25 was very happy about the gig and „Collapse“ got played as first song. Full throttle from the first second and a very-well rehearsed team who burned with passion and spread a lot of joy. Singer Jacopo Dazzi showed his versatility from high screams to clear vocals and gave an impeccable performance on the guitar with solos. He often sought contact with bassist Max Bonengel to compete in guitar duels. Max and Jacopo also took turns with drummer Raffaello Dazzi. Their sound was clearly influenced by Slayer and Sodom. This was met with loud applause, as the boys did a very good job. A loud „Yes“ came as answer tot he question “Are you all right? Do you want to hear more?”. In addition to songs in English, two songs were played in German, “Aufstand” and “Schwarzwald Thrash”. Jacopo also used the gig to announce a new album, which will see the light of day on November 8, 2024. Old and new songs were presented and gave an insight into the band's artistic work to date. After 60 minutes of stage time, Jacopo, Rafaello and Max said goodbye to an enthusiastic audience. They left a very good impression. Thank you very much. It had been a while since I had the chance to see them live and I was looking forward to the new songs. With Stefan Hunter (Leviathane, ex-Bloody Blasphemy), a new member joined on guitar after Annette Zöller-Hannaford left the band this year. Thomas Brutschin joined the band as a new bass player after Dominik Plein left last year. Actually, an intro should have introduced the gig, but due to technical difficulties they decided to start with “In remembrance”. In contrast to the previous band, the focus was on groovy mitd-tempo thrash metal, which was a great contrast and generated excitement. Guitarist Stefan Hunter shone with guitar solos in the spotlight. Frontman David Ackermann was constantly on the move and sought contact with his colleagues and the audience. His vocal performance was flawless and he was full of joy. This was also transmitted to the audience, who integrated themselves into the performance with lots of applause and screaming along to the lyrics. Rhythm guitarist Nicole Ackermann made the audience's ears ring with her catchy riffs and, together with Stefan, contributed background vocals to “A Modern Story” and “I Saw Them Die”. Another premiere was two brand new songs that had never been played live before. “When Life's Hard” and ‘What The Fuck’ were as great as the other songs. Funnily, “Broken Life” was announced as a ballad, which turned out to be half a ballad with loud parts. A clever move on the part of the band. After “When Life's Hard” came the announcement of the CD launch. David handed the CD to the audience. A surprise announcement followed: “Whoever sings along to this song the most and gets involved will receive a T-shirt and the album ‘Moving Through’ as a reward.” This was followed by “I Saw Them Die” about the corona pandemic and on Dave's command, the audience had to shout along to the words “I Saw Them Die” and join in. Then the winner was chosen. It was a surprise that I was chosen and I got the band T-shirt as I had bought the CD at the merchandise stand before the show. It continued with “Religion” and “Don't Break Your Neck” before “Loud and Strong” was planned as the finale. The audience was still on fire and didn't agree. Encore shouts towards the stage were the result and the band decided to play the first encore “Crack A Cold One”. However, Dave arrived with a large blue box containing ice-cold “Birra Moretti” beer. Each member of the audience was allowed to have a beer and then they drank on instruction. A cool gesture to capture the vibe of the song and quench the thirst at the same time. The second encore “Cut and Dried” concluded the strong performance. David, Nicole, Stefan, Stephan and Thomas said goodbye to the audience after a final photo together. The clock showed 11:50 pm and it was clear that time flew by again.
